Microneedling or Dermal needling also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), involves pricking the skin multiple times using a specially designed device with needles to induce regeneration via the wound healing cascade. This process begins with inflammation, where growth factors are released, followed by fibroblast activation and the production of new collagen and elastin—particularly Type I collagen. As the skin remodels, texture, tone and firmness gradually improve, resulting in stronger, healthier, more youthful-looking skin over time.
Initially, Dermal needling was promoted for just increasing and remodelling collagen. However, collagen induction is just one aspect of this treatment modality. Microinjury of the skin appears to reset or reboot cellular function. This mechanism of normalising or “rebooting” cell function forms the basis for treating other conditions such as hyperpigmentation (including melasma), vitiligo, acne, dermatitis and hair restoration. In addition, capitalising on the remodelling phases of wound healing induced by microneedling makes it ideal for scar treatments.
We are proud to offer the most advanced microneedling pen technology from Dermapenworld : The Dermapen 4. This device has revolutionised microneedling. It delivers superior results with unmatched precision and safety. Its advanced technology ensures consistent needle depth, faster treatments due to its revolutionary 16 needle cartridge and less trauma to the skin compared to standard microneedling devices. This results in more effective collagen stimulation, minimal downtime and smoother more predictable results. Dermapen 4 is the only microneedling device with a dedicated scar setting and protocols for revision of deep, atrophic scars; including surgical, burn, contracture, striae and post-acne scars.
