Microsclerotherapy is a medical treatment used to remove small thread or spider veins on the legs and thighs.
It's a highly effective and minimally invasive procedure. It involves injecting a special solution (sclerosant] directly into small, visible veins on the legs and thighs using an ultra-fine needle. This sclerosant irritates the vein wall, causing it to collapse and seal shut. Over time, the thread vein is naturally absorbed by the body, leaving the skin looking clearer. Results develop gradually over several weeks as the body breaks down and naturally eliminates the treated veins, whilst blood is rerouted to healthier deeper veins.
NB: Only suitable for small superficial veins on the legs and thighs above the ankles.
Deeper varicose veins are not suitable for this treatment and would need a medical assessment from a vascular surgeon.
